Endowed Professorships
A professorship is the highest academic award a university can bestow on a faculty member. A professorship is supported by a permanent endowment and, therefore, has additional resources to draw on to recruit and retain the highest quality faculty and promote excellence in the college. SAU currently has 17 endowed professorships and a goal of reaching 20 endowed professorships by 2023.
- Deans provides funds to recruit and retain exceptional Deans. Endowment minimum – $500,000
- Chairs provide funds to recruit and retain outstanding Department Chair candidates. Endowment minimum – $300,000
- Professorships provide funds to a specific college or department to reward distinguished faculty members. Endowment minimum – $200,000

Your gift will secure on-going funding to provide faculty and staff with opportunities to learn and apply new knowledge and skills to stay relevant and up-to-date in their field. These funds provide continuous opportunities for career growth and keeps SAU a premier destination for the top faculty and staff to continue to help prepare tomorrow’s leaders.
